I think it is of high value to consider trade programs as at least an entry point into a career field. Many of these trades programs are short in length, cheap in cost, and high in hiring rate. As a parent I have spent much time thinking about wasted 4 year degrees and the high cost for often little return on investment. For instance, when you compare that many 4 year degrees will start you off in the $40,000 a year range with up to $60,000 in debt, coupled with a risk of low hiring rate, other options should be considered.
